Laura Caviani has wide ranging experience in the field of jazz education. As a professor at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, Laura has taught classes in:

  • Improvisation
  • Composition/arranging
  • Jazz keyboard techniques

conducting the St Thomas Jazz Ensemble

She completed her Master of Music at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, where she taught a unique theory course fostering creativity through improvisation, composition, and cooperative learning. She has studied with bassist Reggie Workman and with pianist and composer JoAnne Brackeen.

Her recent jazz education credits include:

  • Jazz Keyboard at the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire
  • Jazz Keyboard at the University of Minnesota
  • Jazz Ensemble at the University of St. Thomas
  • Jazz in the Classroom - Minnesota Public Schools
  • Private and group lessons in Jazz Keyboard, Arranging and Composition
